Call for Proposals: NMALGBTIC 2019 Conference

We invite you to submit a proposal for the NMALGBTIC (New Mexico Association on LGBTQ Issues in Counseling) 3rd annual conference

The goal of this conference is to draw on the unique strengths of our collective community and our fellow counselors to inspire growth, efficacy, and diversity through the lifespan of the LGBTQ+ community.

The conference is on Saturday, September 21st from 9:00am-5:00pm. The conference will be held at Media Arts Collaborative Charter School in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

We encourage proposals that may highlight creative processes, practices, methods, and techniques that address the distinctive challenges and strengths that the LBGTQ+ community face regarding mental health and wellness. Presenters should either hold a graduate degree in a mental health field or be a qualified professional with a specific expertise (i.e., teachers, community leaders).

CONFERENCE AUDIENCE: As attendees represent the diversity of the larger field of counseling as well as the general community, we invite potential presenters to consider the application of their work in the contexts of LGBTQ+ issues across the lifespan. Attendees may work in private practice, agencies, K-12, higher education, corrections, and within state and federal government. We ask that all presentations are compliant with ADA standards, and that presenters keep this in mind when developing activities for attendees.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS May 24th 2019 by midnight.
